MLD DOE HUNT “Experienced Hunters”

DATE: October 11-13, 2024 (Check in 1PM Friday, Check out 12PM Sunday)

LOCATION: Sierra Mesa Ranch, Hico, Texas

COST: $415 (NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT: $215) Remaining balance and tips is due at event (cash preferred)

This weekend is set up for Experienced hunters ONLY. If you have harvested a deer and just need some meat in the freezer COME ON! Mentors will still be

  • Single MLD whitetail doe hunt, permit included (You may add a second doe for an additional $200, MUST verify with ranch owner first)

  • Rifle ONLY

  • 1 Mentor to 1-2 hunters

  • 2 nights Lodging + 2 dinners included (Friday and Saturday night)

  • Fishing tank available

  • Rifle and trap shoot range

  • Walk in cooler on site

General Itinerary

Friday Oct 11

Arrive by 1PM

Range Time 1:30-3PM (Hunters will need to be able to confidently hit a bullseye at 100 yards before leaving the range, and be comfortable and confident in their firearm and shot placements. It is highly recommended to practice ahead of time if you can)

ABOUT THE Sierra Mesa RANCH

  • 600+ high fence acres of country in Hamilton County, TX

  • Whitetail Deer breeding facility

  • High fence Exotics Ranch

  • 1 main house for hunters, with full kitchen, hunters cabin with bunks, 2 private bathrooms/showers

  • Covered cleaning/processing station

  • Charcoal grill and fire pit

  • Fishing tank

  • Rifle range

YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE

  • A valid Texas hunting license

  • Hunter safety certification MUST (all states accepted)

  • Drinks, food, and snacks for all (we can meal plan as it gets closer)

  • Rifle and ammo (.243 or larger caliber recommended, with a scope also recommended, and soft point ammo NO full metal jackets)

  • Hunting gear/clothes (Texas weather always pack layers)

  • Rain gear

  • Comfy boots to hunt in (might get dirty)

  • Buddy heater if its cold

  • Fishing gear (optional)

  • Bedding/pillows (sheets provided twin size bunks provided)

  • Cleaning/skinning knives

  • Ice chest for meat (there is a meat cooler onsite to store meat while there)

  • Toiletries
